The Foster Care Support and Development Standards
8 hours certificated CPD
Provided by: Mr Al Coates,
Supervising Social Worker, adoptive parent and former Foster Carer, director of CEL&T, and representative on the DfE Adoption Support Advisory Group.
This unit develops Foster Carers knowledge of TS&D standards and the requirements to meet the national minimum benchmark during their first year of induction.
The unit explores each of the seven standards as prescribed by the Department for Education and assists Foster Carers to identify their skills, knowledge and experience to enable them to complete the TS&D standards workbook.
PLEASE NOTE- we have developed this unit to support the very many foster Carers who are unable to attend training at their own organisation, where this is provided. The purpose of this unit is to enable all foster Carers to identify suitable opportunities for recording their evidence towards the DfE requirements and provides ideas and suggestions along with explanation of what each standard means for Foster Carers. The certificate you receive does not replace the requirement by DfE. Your Social Worker does need to sign off this workbook for you for the purposes of DfE. Whilst Mr Coates is qualified and capable of doing this process of signing off, we feel for quality assurance purposes it is better that your own social worker, who you meet in person, is the best person to sign off your DfE evidence booklet.
the cost of this unit is £50
